What are lash extensions?

Eyelash Extensions are synthetic fibres that are applied to the natural lashes. Designed to enhance length, volume, and curl, they can be crafted for a dramatic or subtle enhancement —complimentary to your desired style.

How long do lash extensions last?

The lifespan of your lashes is dependant on your natural lash cycle & post application care. Using our lash wrapping technique extensions typically last 4-6 weeks. As your natural lashes shed the extensions will gradually fall with them. Keep lashes looking fresh with regular fills every 2-3 weeks, some may be able to reschedule at 4 weeks.

Are lash extensions safe?

When applied by a skilled and certified Lash Artist, eyelash extensions are a safe and low risk service. At SUMMON THE SIRENS we prioritise safety by using high quality products & safe techniques. Our approach ensures no damage and minimises the risk of adverse reactions.

We follow rigorous health/safety & infection control protocols to guarantee a safe environment for every client.

Always communicate with us if you’ve had previous allergic reactions, sensitivities or concerns about lash damage. We’ll take the time to address all questions before your service before your appointment, tailoring the approach to your needs.

What if I’ve had a reaction to a lash product before?

If you’ve experienced a reaction to any lash products in the past, there is a possibility it could re occur. Depending on the nature of the reaction, we may recommend a patch test prior to any treatment. This helps minimise risk and ensures your safety.

How is a patch test preformed?

A patch test involves applying all relevant lash products during a standard service, but instead of a full set, we apply around 10 individual lashes per eye. Over the next 48-72hrs, we closely monitor for any potential adverse reactions. This ensures we have sufficient time to identify any allergic responses before proceeding.

Signs of an adverse reaction to eyelash extensions:

  • Redness or irritation on the eyelid or lash line.

  • Swelling or puffiness around the eyes.

  • Itching or discomfort on the lash line or surrounding skin.

  • Burning or stinging sensation near the application area.

  • Blisters or raised bumps on the eyelids.

If any of these symptoms arise, seek medical attention immediately. Reactions can range from minor to severe, and discomfort is unlikely to subside without proper treatment.

While your body reacts, DO NOT:

  • Scratch/ rub eyes or attempt to remove the extensions yourself.

  • Apply products that may aggravate the situation.

You can use a cold compress to reduce swelling & soothe discomfort but this will not resolve the reaction.

  • After consulting a medical professional, reach out to us with written medical clearance, and we’ll arrange a safe removal of the extensions.

Can I get lash extensions if I have sensitive eyes?

Yes, but its essential to inform us of your sensitivity level beforehand so we can ensure application is comfortable and safe. Your suitability for extensions depends on the degree of your sensitivity:

Mild or Occasional Sensitivity: If your eyes are only mildly sensitive or occasionally irritated, lashes may still be a suitable option for you.

High Sensitivity: If you’re uncomfortable with anything near your eyes (under eye pads, tape or brushing through lashes), unfortunately, extensions may not be suitable as this would contraindicate the service.

Previous Negative Experience: If you’ve had a negative or traumatic experience with extensions in the past but wish to have them, we’ll work closely with you to ensure a safe, customised approach that prioritises comfort throughout the process.
